The picture above should be pretty self-evident. The main part of the adapter consists of an old pen spring soldered to a red wire. Then the spring is hot melt glued into a piece of plastic tubing. The plastic tubing is flexible enough to allow it to grip the stylus, whilst the stylus makes contact with the spring. The black wire is connected to a thin brass shim with a hole, that can be placed over the line-out connector of the Gen X-1. Finally both of the wires are soldered to a 3.5mm jack socket. The picture below shows the adapter connected to the Gen X-1.

I wanted to make a simple and non-damaging adapter that would allow me to connect a Stylophone Gen X-1 to other synthesizer gear. I didn't really want to damage the Stylophone so I made the following part.

I tried the adapter out by connecting it to the velocity and pitch outputs of a Behringer Edge (also used a Behringer Grind to attenuate and offset the signal) A rough diagram of the setup is shown below. Note that I had some trouble getting the Gen X-1 to track in tune (sort of a trial and error process), but it seemed to work OK for a first go. I did a quick YouTube video (Linked below) outlining the process, and also including some rough sound demos. If you get a chance please watch like and subscribe, Thanks, Martin.
