Ksoloti Gills: Combined Patch Tryout.

I finally got round to trying out some simple patches on my Ksoloti Gills (also see previous blog "Home Built Gear: Ksoloti Gills Video"). The first video linked below outlines a simple two oscillator patch being MIDI controlled by an Arturia Keystep37. The second video shows the combination of the simple oscillator patch along with a simple groovebox sequencer. The synth is controlled via MIDI and the midi clock is also used to synchronise the groovebox sequencer. Only a couple of the controls are routed out to the hardware pots on the Ksoloti Gills (filter cutoff and resonance for the synth part), that is why some of the controls are being altered in the GUI. All the synthesis and sounds are being generated on the hardware though, and it will run without the PC connection.

Note: Someone asked on YouTube about getting the SD card to work. I had some problems with this initially, but then noticed Windows 10/11 (don't know about 7/8) would only format my SD card to NTFS or exFAT. The Ksoloti patcher was coming up with errors such as " FR_INVALID_OBJECT, filename:"/" File error: FR_NO_FILESYSTEM, filename:"/START.BIN".

Anyway, The Ksoloti requires the card to be formatted as FAT32. I tried to do this in windows 11 using diskpart but it refused to format above 32GB (my card was 64GB). If I remember correctly I think that older OS's may allow you to format, but I ended up using a free copy of DiskGenius DiskGenius Free Edition - Free Partition Manager for Windows ,that seemed to do the trick. The card now seems to work as expected.

Anyway, the videos below are supposed to show some of the sounds. If you can, please subscribe to my Youtube Channel.
